Coping with the loss of a pet - Interview with Dr. David Schonfeld
Dr. Schonfeld is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children and Disasters and the National Biodefense Science Board; he served as a Commissioner for the National Commission on Children and Disasters and for the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission in Connecticut. Dr. Schonfeld was the President of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and won of the 2019 Simms/Mann Institute Whole Child Award for Medicine. He is also the author of over 150 articles, book chapters, and books. He has provided consultation and training on school crisis and pediatric bereavement for over 30 years in the aftermath of numerous school crisis events and disasters within the United States and abroad.

Dr Erica Dickie Helping pets and their families towards the end of their lives
Dr. Erica Dickie is a veterinarian, mother of two young boys, and lover of all animals. She was drawn to palliative and end of life care after losing her heart pet Smokey January 2019. Feeling the depths of the loss, she felt her true calling was clear: she wanted to support pet parents through this most difficult time with compassion, understanding, and grace. This started her path towards becoming a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian and opening her mobile pet hospice practice (Black Creek Mobile Veterinary Services @petcomfortvet) in 2020, advocating for the good death revolution.
